What are the roots that clutch, what branches
grow T.S. Eliot - The Wasteland
Urban Dialectics is a photographic platform
that represents the city as a place of transition, a dialogue between
humankind and its environment. Our lives are an ongoing struggle against
the chaotic impulses of nature, a battle against the forces that knaw
away at every foundation that's laid down, born from the denial of our
true selves. Whenever we lose our guard, decay sets in. We are constantly
engaged in futile attempts to gain control of our fragmented perception.
This is reflected in the way we structure our habitats: with squares
and straight lines. We strive to maintain a highly fragile status quo
and cling to a lineair order that doesn't exist. We like to think we
control our environment, but in reality it controls us. Apart from that it's just me with a camera shooting
whatever I find visually appealing/appalling (same difference). More
will follow. All images copyright ME2000 - Please ask before
