10 Years GLOBAL DARKNESS!
This Weekend!
This year its 10 years ago that Global Darkness opened it’s virtual doors to the world. Born out of a nagging ennui and a vague sense that something was missing, by a stroke of luck Global Darkness was instrumental in centralizing the (then virtually non-existent) Electronic music community around a single focused goal: The West Coast Sound of Holland! Remember kids, this was Web 0.5. No Discogs, no Social Networking, no P2P, no online Radiostations, no Youtube, no Blogs and hardly any interactivity! Through articles, artist profiles, a rudimentary database, a forum and the suport of Bunker Records, Creme Organization and dozens of other underground labels and individuals Global Darkness has nursed a scene that has spread its wings and is now web-wide.
10 years is a long run for a website and its a small miracle (or a refusal to wake up and smell the coffee depending how you look at it) that GD is still up and running and was able to evolve in such a way that it is still a modest fixture in an environment of such extreme competition and high paced technological advancement. In fact we are so surprised ourselves that we think a celebration is in order!
So come join us the 21st of March on the Stubnitz in Amsterdam!

I was on the boat! the big boat! the live jam from sendex-legowelt-orgue electrique was incredible. Legowelt had very well mastered this live. Maybe everybody plays music like chicago house, so cool !
